The land of Molise

A journey in discovery of Molise reveals its hidden beauties, traditions, and history. The Samnites – a people that often rebelled against the power of Rome – inhabited this marvelous territory.
Our trip will allow us to explore the Tratturi, the grassy pathways that are still used today for transhumance, that is the animal drives that agricultural producers carry out each season. Today many tourists join the caravans, accompanying the ranchers in this voyage from other times, rediscovering tastes, smells and sounds by now long-forgotten.
Along the trails of transhumance travelers arrive in Jelsi, a Medieval village that hosts the traditional Grain Fest, an authentic celebration of agriculture. During the Fest farmers celebrate their riches by way of song and dance, expressing joy and thanksgiving for a good harvest.
